Getting Started - Joining the Forums
Firstly hello and welcome to the Under5s Early Learning Forums
Under5s was created in the year 2000 to help support everyone involved in early years education. Over the years we have had a number of different types of forum which have always proved to be a very popular part of the site.
In that spirit we have created the Early Learning Forums (ELF for short), to continue to offer a place where ideas, experiences and information can be shared but also to offer new experiences - blogging, chat and the opportunity to post pictures and files to exchange with colleagues.
The aim of these forums is to bring together like minded people who work with young children to share information and experiences. In time we hope that these forums will become a valuable source of knowledge that you will support you in your day to day working environment.
We welcome contributions from people from all over the world who are involved in early years education. The internet offers the opportunity to bring people together and to exchange ideas and information that was not possible previously. So where ever you are please tell us
However, using the internet can be a daunting experience so we ask that all users of these forums treat fellow users with consideration, courtesy and respect. We would ask that more experienced users help and support those new users who may feel slightly intimidated by the concept of posting messages into cyberspace.
Joining the Early Learning Forums is easy
Just follow theses simple steps.
To subscribe to these forums costs just £4.99 for a month, £19.99 for a year or £48.99 for a lifetime subscription. The subscription fee is payable on registration and gives you unlimited access to all of the features of ELF for as long as you want to continue to be a member.
Why do we charge any fee to access the forums ?
Well we want to ensure that only those people who work or have an active interest in early years can access the forums. We want a safe and secure environment where early years professionals can share information and expertise.
Now we believe that we can offer the best of both worlds, a secure environment at a reasonable cost.
Step 1 - Terms and Rules
Click on the Register link, you will be asked to agree to our Terms and Rules. You can indicate your agreement by checking the box at the bottom of the Terms and Rules page and then clicking the Register button.
Step 2 - The Registration Form
You will now be taken to our Registration form.
1. Enter a login name, this is the name you will use when logging into the Early Learning Forums.
2. Now enter a display name, this can be the same as your log in name. If it is different please remember not to use this name when you are trying to log in !!
3. Choose a password.(don't forget it)
4. Now enter your email address.
5. The subscription package defaults to the £24.99 Lifetime Membership Subscription.
6. Enter the security code as displayed.
7. Now decide if you want to receive email or not.
8. Select your time zone
9. If you are joining us using a promotional code please make sure that you enter the code in the promotional code box on the registration form.
10. Click the 'Submit my Registration' button.
Step 3 - Logging In
You will now be asked to log in to the forums. Use the Log In name and Password you gave in Step 2.
Step 4 - Paying Your Subscription
You will now be taken to the payments page.
You will be offered a choice of payment options - Paypal or Cheque by Post/Promotional Code. Just check the option that suits you.
Subscribers paying by Paypal will gain instant access to the forums. Just click the 'Click here to continue button' Please note that you do not have to have a Paypal account to pay by Paypal, just use your normal credit or debit card to pay through Paypal !
Subscribers paying by cheque will need to wait until we receive payment. Your membership status will change to pending. We will upgrade you when we receive your cheque and notify you by email. Just click the 'Click here to continue button'
If you have joined us using a Promotional Code your membership status will change to pending. We will upgrade you within 48 hours. Just click the 'Click here to continue button' and try logging in again at a later date to check your status.
Using the Forums
To use the majority of functions click on the 'My Controls' link at the top of the page. This allows subscribed members to create blogs and galleries etc., and to amend their personal settings. Users can also view all of the posts since their last visit - a feature that we know you find very useful.
If you are ever unsure of what to do don't forget to consult our extensive help files. Just click on Help at the top of the page.
